The Journal of Controlled Release (JCR) is excited to announce theappointment of Professor Zhiyuan Zhong as a new Associate Editor ofthe Asian Office. JCR is an official journal of the Controlled Release Society, with an impact facor of 7.901.
Professor Zhiyuan Zhong is a distinguished professor and chair ofSoochow University Biomedical Polymers Laboratory. He received hisPh.D. in 2002 from the University of Twente in the Netherlands underthe supervision of Professor Jan Feijen, and his research has focused on biomedical polymers,nanomedicine and targeted cancer therapy. He has been very active inthe drug delivery field through his service as an Associate Editor forBiomacromolecules, and as an organizer of the Symposium onInnovative Polymers for Controlled Delivery (SIPCD) since 2010 heldbiennially in Suzhou, China. Through his excellent research, ProfessorZhong has received many awards, including Biomacromolecules/Macromolecules Young Investigator Award, the Friedrich WilhelmBessel Research Award (from the Humboldt Foundation), Award forBreakthrough Technologies in Drug Delivery Systems in Asia (JapaneseSociety of Drug Delivery System), National Ten-Thousand TalentAward, and National Outstanding Young Scholar Award. He was recognizedas a Highly Cited Researcher in Pharmacology and Toxicologyby Clarivate Analytics and as a Fellow of the American Institute forMedical and Biological Engineering in 2018. Professor Zhong alsoworked as the Vice President of Suzhou BioBay, a Biomedical Park inChina, and co-founded a biomedical company, AK Cell Biopharma Co.,Ltd., for clinical translation of his findings.
