金永希 教授

Dr. Yong-Hee Kim is full Professor of Department of Bioengineering, Hanyang University, Korea. Hegraduated from the College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University, Korea in 1983 and received his M.S in the Physical Pharmacy Lab., College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University, Korea in 1985 (advisor: Prof. Byung Sul Yu). He received Ph.D. in the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Utah in 1992 (advisor: Prof. William I. Higuchi) followed by Post-Doctoral fellow for 2 years in Prof. Sung Wan Kim’s lab at the University of Utah.

His current professional activities are Professor in the Department of Bioengineering and Director of the Institute for Bioengineering and Biopharmaceutical Research(IBBR) at the Hanyang University, Adjunct Professor of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Soochow University in China, Research Professor of the Center for Controlled Chemical Delivery, Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Utah in USA and Evaluation Committee of the Korea Food and Drug Administration.

His Scientific Activities are Editor of the Archives of Pharmacal Research, International Committee of the Symposium on Innovative Polymers for Controlled Delivery, Secretary general of the BioTherapeuics Delivery Society and Vice-Chairman of the Korean Society for Biomaterials. He also served as an Executive Director of the Korean Society for Biomaterials, Secretary General of the 3rd Asian Pharmaceutical Congress, General Executive of the Korean Society for Biomaterials, Chairman of Planning Committee and General Executive of the Korean Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology.

His research interests are focused on mainly Drug Delivery Systems such as Biopharmaceutical Delivery, Non-viral Gene Delivery (plasmid DNA, siRNA, ODN), Fusion Protein Delivery, Injectable Hydrogels, Biomedical Polymers and Combination Therapy.

He received ‘Scientist of the Month’ Award from the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, Korea in 2015, ‘R&D Distinguished Idea’ Award, Hanyang University, Korea in 2015, ‘Scientist of the Month’ Award, Hanyang University, Korea in 2015, ‘Outstanding Scientist’ Award, Yangyoung Foundation, Korea in 2013, ‘Power Brain’ Award, Sisa Magazine, Korea in 2012 and ‘Most Cited Paper’ Award from the Journal of Controlled Release in 2005.

He has been a member of the BioTherapeutics Delivery Society, Controlled Release Society, American Association of Phamaceutical Scientist, Polymer Society of Korea, Korean Society for Biomaterials, Korean Society of Pharmaceutics.
